Untold stories of Mahabharata !!

The Mahabharata is one of the oldest and also one of the major Sanskrit epics of Ancient India. The Mahabharata is three times longer than the Bible and it also contains over one lakh verses in it. Besides the narration of the whole Kurukshetra war and fates of Kauravas and Pandavas, it also contains philosophical and devotional things in it. This book teaches us about the life, Karma, Dharma and also about God.

There are many hidden and untold stories of Mahabharata which you were unaware of and which nobody ever told you before this. So, here we are going to tell you about these hidden and untold stories of Mahabharata.

Five Golden Arrows

When Kauravas were losing the war of Kurukshetra, so Duryodhana went to one night and blamed him for that situation and accused him for not fighting the battle properly in favor of Kauravas which he promised just because of his affection towards Pandavas. Bhishma got angry with these words of Duryodhana and he immediately picked up 5 golden arrows and chanted some Mantras and said that he will kill 5 Pandavas next morning. But Duryodhana was not able to trust him properly. So asked Bhishma to give him the custody of those 5 golden arrows and said that he will keep them safe and will return to Bhishma the next morning and so on…

Iravan sacrificed himself

Arjun’s son Iravan sacrificed himself to Goddess Kali to ensure Pandava’s win in Mahabharata war. But he had a wish that he want to get married before dying. So, Lord Krishna took the form of Mohini and married him and the day Iravan died, he wept like a widow.

UDUPI FED THE KURUKSHETRA WARRIORS

When the Mahabharata war was fought, All the kings aligned themselves on one side. But Udupi king preferred being on the neutral part. So, he spoke to Lord Krishna and said that,” The people who will fight will definitely need some food to eat. So, I will be the caterer in this battle and I will feed each warrior.”

The battle lasted for 18 days and thousand of soldiers died every single day. So, Udupi King had to make that much of less food each day so that the food never gets waste.
